This weekend we'll be playing much anticipated shows with German smashers WAR FROM A HARLOTS MOUTH as a part of their tour to support their new album. We've aptly titled the three gigs we're doing together UNITED HARLOTS minitour :D and the dates goes as follows: 29.5. - Česká Lípa, 30.5. - Brno, 1.6. - Plzeň. We certainly hope this'll turn out well and Harlot guys will have only good memories from Czech Republic.

One wouldn't even believe it, our long-ago announced 7" ep split with CUTTERED FLESH shall see the light of the world this week supported by a double release party - in Chomutov and Chodov this very weekend!! All locals are invited, as there's more joy to come! It will be a release party for the newcomers on chomutov scene INSUFFERABLE EMBEDDED as well and it'll all happen as a part of a double birthday party! You won't find a better chance to get wasted!!!

Our show in Prievidza was a success, only the trip was a bit of a pain. The band of the evening was definitively GOD DEFAMER and we'd like to thank them for invitation. We're glad we met a lot of our friends again. Next weekend saw us in Slovakia again, Bratislava and Martovce this time. The trip wasn't very lucky this time as well and after crossing the border Eda is driving us no one knows where....Fortunatelly we make it to the great Randal club on time. We met deathcore hopefuls HATE MYSELF, Disgorge from Slovakia MORTALLY INFECTED, classics SANATORIUM and vaudeville STABWOUND that evening. Sound and support from local fans was excellent throughout the entire concert. Thanks for the following afterparty in organizer's flat goes to Twisted and co. Martovce (south Slovakia) weren't that much of a bliss. The backline wasn't exactly satisfying for one thing, also the audience was a bit old-school by our standards. The icing on the cake was vocalist's flu. After our set we're packing and decamping. Thanks to Kristian and co. for invitation.

The Blansko gig went off fine. This time our trip was lucky, no accidents occured. We played for visually full club and met a lot of mates - kinda like in family circle. Thanks for invitation to Pavla and W! Our gig in Prague was satisfactory as well and it was nice to fix our reputation after last Kain fuck-up. This weekend we're headed Slovakia, Prievidza this time. Make sure to come by.

It's been long ago since we'played in front of such crowded hall as we did last week when supporting NAPALM DEATH. Great deal of people came which is something we don't see often, especially at Vysočina. We did our standard set with quite good sound, only our joy from it was spoiled a bit by a drunk vagrant who wouldn't leave stage, eventually falling into drum kit. Splitter paid much higher price for this, as, under similiar conditions, their singer fell from the stage, forcing the band to cancel their participation on the rest of the tour. Our thanks for this oportunity for presentation goes to OBSCURE prods!

You must have noticed that we were chosen as a support of UK veterans NAPALM DEATH on Havlíčkův Brod stop of their current tour, we’re very excited about this! We hope not to shame Vysočina and to support this unique show! We will with all glory introduce a brand new song as well!

Another 3 gigs are behind us. Our opening for Croatia’s DEFIANT in Melodka club (Brno) went more than well, attendance was around 100 people, which was great – for a working day. It was nice to see a lot of new faces and some moshing now and then. The club benefits from new interior and spacious stage and we’ll be happy to come back there. Our thanks goes to Martin W for inviting us to this groovy event. Things went a bit differently the following day in Bratislava and we can say with certainty that the gig was one of the most bizarre we’ve every played, because, as a consequence of rather passive communication, it came clear about a week before the show that we’re to support Slovakia Metallica revival band :D. We didn’t want to back out at the last moment but Slovakia extreme music fans seemed to enjoy the mess we’ve gotten us into and made fun of it not only during our show but also the next day in Bánovec and a couple of following days on ICQ :D. After a bit chaotic and logic lacking backline preparation we released our music into crowded club. Response? As you would expect from Metallica fans :D. We had to assure them right after the first song that we won’t be bothering them no longer than half an hour and that they have to deal with it or go get a beer :D. Luckily people revived a little and a couple of die-hards even eventually indulged in blithe moshpit. Now it was time for the audience’s beloved INTREPID – Metallica revival with its 2-hour long set! We’ve engaged in selling our merchandise in the meanwhile. It didn’t go very well...for some reason :D And everyone got surprised when I demanded EUROs for the stuff :D. We were however elated by the Saturday gig in Bánovec, a good deal of people came into a tiny club called Atari and a brutal moshipt erupted during our set. Because of lacking stage platform we kind of blended with audience – resulting in that proper touch with fans. In short – excellent audience, the one you don’t come accros too often. Unfortunatelly, some plumbing cracked in the club at the end of our set and the event had to be ended, which was a real pity – mood was smashing that night. We’d like to thank to Hoyas & ATTACK OF RAGE for inviting us. We do envy them their local fans!

As you already know from previous news, SMASHED FACE line-up is finally enriched by a second guitarist. We’ve tried out at least 5 candidates for this position, Sam (also featured in mathcore project TOSA INU) was first to meet our demands. At this moment we are through 5 gigs as a five-piece band. Our playlist has also changed and new changes are coming as we’re working on new songs! Make sure to get to one of our upcoming shows to enjoy the new SMASHED FACE sound, it sure is worth it.

On 1st - 3rd September we will enter the Bzenec Studio Shaark to record 2 songs for outcoming split 7" EP with CUTTERED FLESH, which will be released under PIGEON SHIT agency sometimes in autumn 2007. To be concrete, we will record a brand new song called "Spawn To Evanesce" and also a secret cover- song. The layout as usually will be designed by Matěj Šimek & NUKE design who is momentally working on finalizing the website of TRANSLUNARIA..

And now the breaking news!!! We are proud to announce that we finally found the second guitarist Pet Pádivý alias Vargstjern to join our band. The informed people will know him for his featuring in bands like CHAKRA BANDOLEROS and TUONI and he is also well-known fellow on the scene of Jihlava. We are preparing together the material for studio and also a setlist for gigs that you will see and hear as soon as possible.

Fred was singing at Brutal Assult with DESPISE, the song was entitled "Enshrouded In Misconception". This song with Fred´s featuring appeared on a debut album "Fragments Of Reprisal" as well. If this album is as successful as their performance at that festival, there is no doubt about the leaders of Czech DM scene! Thanx a lot once again for featuring and feavour, DESPISE rulez!

We're apologizing to all the fans for waiting for us in Blansko and Trnava in vain, but unexpected health problems of our bassman pushed us to cancel both these gigs. Eda has been under home treatment now and since september we will be able to perform commonly as before. Thanks for comprehension!

On a sadder note now, SMASHED FACE have parted ways with the founding member, the drummer Pavel. Besides the personal disagreement the main reason is his relocating abroad for job reasons. We wish him lots of luck in his personal life as well as other musical activities. We now rehearse our material with a new drummer from DEAD INSECT COLLECTION (ex- RE-INTOXICATION) and if everything goes well, we shall show up with the new line-up in Slavonice on 3rd November.

The FACELESS Czech mini tour with INHATRED as been utterly successful. Big thanks to all the fans as well as all promoters, media, and other helping hands and of course bands who played with us. We have already started preparing another mini tour, so stay tuned, the info will appear here of course.

We have updated the pane on the left hand side of the main page (www.smashedface.com) a bit. Added have been the links to our profile at MySpace - a genius web if you're looking for good music, and www.bandzone.cz, useful for Czech located outfits. The PARTNERS column now features also links to ABNORMAL ARTS and TUBERCULOSIS zine. Both entities have been very helpful in the graphic efforts. And finally, we have established the FRIENDS column to show the exceptional bands - for now, DESPISE are included.

I would like to get back to the show played a while back in the north of Bohemia, especially the one in Chomutov on 8.9. The show at Kotelna was number one, we met WASTEFORM again, as well as brothers from DESPISE (thanks for featuring us!) and the moshpit was simply awesome! The afterparty at the scouts' club grew big and I have to laugh remembering the things we learned there :-) We spent the following day at the ABNORMAL CLAMOUR guys' place - thanks for the care and comfort, we appreciate it, you are a family to us!
